Acquired a 20% Stake in BIOMETHAN GREEN 1 – SOCIETÀ AGRICOLA S.R.L., a company controlled by Andion Italy and involved in the construction of a liquid biomethane plant in Mirandola (MO), with a total investment of over 20 million euros.

Monza (MB) – Mirandola (MO), August 4 – SOL S.p.A. (“SOL”) – one of Italy’s leading producers of technical, industrial, and medical gases – and ANDION ITALY S.r.l. (“Andion”), the Italian subsidiary of Andion CH4 – a European leader in proven energy recovery solutions through the anaerobic digestion of agricultural by-products and organic waste – have signed an agreement to build a plant for the production of liquid biomethane (bio-LNG) from livestock biomass and agricultural by-products in Mirandola, in the province of Modena.
Specifically, AIRSOL S.r.l., a wholly owned subsidiary of SOL S.p.A., has acquired a 20% stake in BIOMETHAN GREEN 1 – SOCIETÀ AGRICOLA S.R.L., a company controlled by Andion and holding the permits for the construction and operation of the plant in Modena.
With a total investment of over 20 million euros, the plant is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by the first half of 2026.
The partnership agreement stipulates that all of the bio-LNG produced by the Mirandola plant will be exclusively allocated to SOL S.p.A. for subsequent marketing in Italy and across Europe, targeting clients in the mobility and industrial sectors.
This partnership will allow SOL to strengthen its portfolio of sustainable cryogenic liquid gases.
Daniele Forni, General Manager of Technical Gases at the SOL Group, stated:
“We are proud of this partnership, which marks another step forward in our journey toward offering products and solutions that support the energy transition. This initiative reaffirms our commitment to a more responsible and sustainable future, in line with the values that have always defined us.”
Roberto Zocchi, President of Andion Italy and of Biomethan Green 1, commented:
“We are honored by SOL’s decision to invest in our company dedicated to the production of bio-LNG. For Andion, this is a significant endorsement, confirming the strength of our technical and commercial expertise in the Italian biomethane market. These capabilities are highly synergistic with SOL’s know-how in achieving our shared goals for environmental sustainability.”
